Global Shading Day 2024
Global Shading Day is a special event by the European Solar Shading Organisation to raise awareness about the positive benefits of solar shading products.
It takes place on the first day of spring to highlight how shading can help combat climate change, creating more sustainable, energy efficient buildings.
Any of the product types we supply will come under the category of Solar shading and can help to bring the following benefits:
In the winter, during the day when it is sunny, open blinds to benefit from the free solar energy from the sun and close them in the evening to provide extra insulation and reduce heat loss to save energy and money.
In summer, the process is reversed and closing the shading during the day can stop heat build up in the room while opening them during the evening when the temperature is cooler allows some of the heat to escape with ventilation.
The data has it…Blinds make better winter energy savings
Honeycomb blackout blinds are a great energy saving product. Their unique cellular design helps to trap air making them a great insulating product in the window. Using them in perfect fit/framed bead system can have a heat loss reduction of up to 32%.
Recommending products with reflective backings such as pleated or roller fabrics and also white backed blinds can increase the energy saving properties of the blinds for your customers.
Adding a Standard roller blind to the window will reduce heat loss by up to 13%, showing how important it is not to let heat escape through a blank window.
